How is Extra Neutral Alcohol made?
Extra neutral alcohol is made following the three-step process.
1. Choosing the Raw Material During
The first step is to choose the raw material for fermentation and distillation. Raw material can be sugarcane molasses or grains. Grains include corn, rye, wheat, barley, and rice.
2. Fermentation of the Raw Material
During fermentation, sugar is metabolized into ethanol and carbon dioxide. Here yeast acts as a catalyst to convert sugar into alcohol and other compounds.
3. Rectification and Redistillation
Next, the fermented raw material is diluted with demineralized water to flush out any remaining contaminants. After bringing the alcohol content up to 96% v/v, it is redistilled.
